Program Impact

Port Arthur/Beaumont Program Impact In the 2006-2007 school year:


  • Pre- and post-tests of students who have received help from Experience Corps members show that 89 percent of the students showed significant improvement in reading skills

  • 98% of Experience Corps members agreed their service was useful to the community.

  • 100% of Experience Corps members agreed their service was useful to the student they worked with and to the school.

  • 95% of Experience Corps members reported that serving gave them an opportunity to socialize with other adults.

  • 98% of Experience Corps members agreed that tutoring increased their understanding of the value of service.
